Specializing in everything from furniture to random objects for the home, we are (CIVILIZED). We redesign vintage pieces as well as build new creations from scratch. Utilizing high quality metals, woods, fabrics, and found objects, we create ideal pieces for the design-minded home.
We (Charlie and Jessica Culella) are based in St. Louis, MO and got our start back in 2009, when we designed and produced our first piece of furniture, the Pagoda Modern lounge chair, for a charity event to help fund and support a women’s shelter. The lounge chair was such a success, and made such an impact on the shelter, that we participated again in 2010 with the Concur chair and ottoman. We had so many more ideas, sketching ideas on lunch napkins, we wondered where we’d ever store all these pieces if we made them. Thus, came (CIVILIZED), our creative outlet for all our furniture and home good ideas.
